Facade engineering has never mattered more in the UK, or been harder to get right. Since the Building Safety Act, the bar for the building envelope has risen sharply: the calculations, the fire performance, the compliance evidence are all scrutinised in ways they never were before. Yet the firms carrying that responsibility, the architects, contractors, and specialist facade companies, often struggle to find facade engineering support that is genuinely expert, properly accountable, and there when the programme needs it. Sovereign exists to close that gap.
The problem we were built to solve
Good facade engineering is scarce. The discipline is narrow, the expertise takes years to build, and demand has outpaced supply. Too often, the firms who need facade engineering find it slow to access, hard to pin down on accountability, or delivered by people who have never actually engineered the systems in question. We started Sovereign because we had spent our careers on the other side of that problem, delivering the facade engineering, and we knew it could be done better.

We work to the Eurocodes, the CWCT Standard for Systemised Building Envelopes, and the UK Building Regulations, and we produce the facade engineering evidence that supports Building Safety Act and Gateway 2 submissions for higher-risk buildings. Our deliverables are made to be used, formatted for direct submission to fabricators, Building Control, and planning, without rework.
